Ibrahim bin Aliyah dari Abbad bin Ishaq dari Abdurrahman bin Mu'awiyah berkata Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. bersabda: "Tiga macam sifat yang tidak dapat selamat daripadanya seorangpun iaitu: * Buruk sangka * Hasad dengki * Takut sial kerana sesuatu Lalu ditanya: "Ya Rasulullah, bagaimana untuk selamat dari semua itu?" Jawab Nabi Muhammad s.a.w.: "Jika kau hasad maka jangan kau lanjutkan, dan jika menyangka maka jangan kau buktikan (jangan kau cari- cari kenyataannya) dan jika merasa takut dari sesuatu maka hadapilah (jangan mundur)." Yakni jika hasad dalam hatimu maka jangan kau lahirkan dalam amal perbuatanmu sebab selama hasad itu masih dalam hati, maka Allah s.w.t. maafkan selama belum keluar dengan lidah atau perbuatan. Jika su'udhdhan (buruk sangka) maka jangan kau buktikan, jangan berusaha menyelidiki mencari kenyataannya. Demikian pula jika akan keluar untuk sesuatu lalu ada suara burung atau lain-lain yang menimbulkan was-was atau takut dalam hati maka teruskan hajatmu dan jangan mundur." Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. suka kepada fa'al (kata-kata yang baik atau harapan yang baik) dan tidak suka thiyarah (takut sial kerana burung dan sebagainya) dan bersabda: "Thiyarah itu perbuatan jahiliyah." Seorang mukmin tidak takut dan berlindung kepada Allah s.w.t. Ibn Abbas r.a. berkata: "Jika kamu mendengar suara burung maka bacalah: "Allahumma la thoira illa thairuka walaa ilaha ghoiruka walaa haula walaa quwwata illa billahi." (Yang bermaksud): "Ya Allah, tidak ada burung kecuali burungMu dan tidak ada kebaikan kecuali daripadaMu dan tiada Tuhan kecuali Engkau dan tiada daya dan tidak ada kekuatan kecuali dengan pertolongan Allah." Dan teruskan maksudmu, maka tidak akan ada sesuatu yang berbahaya bagimu. Bi idz nillah. Abul Laits meriwayatkan dengan sanadnya dari Abu Hurairah r.a. berkata Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. bersabda: "Jangan benci membenci dan jangan hasud menghasud dan jangan menawar barang untuk menjerumuskan orang lain dan jadilah kamu hamba Allah sebagai saudara." Mu'awiyah bin Abi Sufyan berkata kepada puteranya: "Hai anak, hati-hatilah dari hasud, dengki kerana ia akan nyata pada dirimu sebelum bahayanya tampak nyata pada musuhmu." Abul Laits berkata: "Tiada sesuatu yang lebih jahat daripada hasud, sebab penghasud itu akan terkena lima bencana sebelum terkena apa-apa yang dihasud iaitu: * Risau hati yang tak putus-putus * Bala yang tidak berpahala * Tercela yang tidak baik * Dimurka Allah s.w.t. * Tertutup padanya pintu taufiq Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. bersabda: "Ingatlah bahawa nikmat-nikmat Allah s.w.t. ada musuhnya." Ditanya: "Siapakah musuh-musuh nikmat Allah s.w.t. itu, ya Rasulullah?" Jawab Rasulullah s.a.w.: "Ialah mereka yang hasud terhadap nikmat kurniaan Allah s.w.t. yang diberikan kepada manusia." Malik bin Dinaar berkata: "Saya dapat menerima persaksian orang qurraa' terhadap siapapun tetapi tidak dapat menerima persaksian terhadap sesama qurraa' sebab diantara mereka ada rasa iri hati dan hasud menghasud." Abuhurairah r.a. berkata Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. bersabda: "Enam kerana enam akan masuk neraka pada hari kiamat sebelum hisab (perhitungan amal) iaitu: * Pemerintah kerana zalim * Orang kerana fanatik (mengutamakan kebangsaan) * Kepala desa kerana sombong * Pedagang kerana kianat * Orang dusun kerana kebodohan * Ahli ilmu kerana hasud Yakni ulama yang hanya berebut dunia, mereka hasud satu sama lain, kerana itu seharusnya seseorang menuntut ilmu kerana Allah s.w.t. dan akhirat supaya tidak timbul hasud menghasud antara satu pada yang lain. Sebagaimana firman Allah s.w.t. mengenai orang- orang Yahudi (Yang berbunyi): "Am yahsudunan naasa ala maa ataahumullahu min fadhlihi." (Yang bermaksud): "Ataukah mereka hasud pada orang-orang kerana Allah memberikan kurniaNya kepada mereka." Seorang cendikiawan berkata: "Awaslah dari hasud (irihati) sebab hasud itu pertama-tama dosa dilangit dan juga pertama dosa yang terjadi dibumi. Iblis laknatullah diperintah sujud pada Nabi Adam a.s. akan tetapi oleh kerana ia irihati (hasud) sehingga menolak perintah Allah s.w.t. dan dia dikutuk oleh Allah s.w.t. dan juga Qabil membunuh Habil kerana irihati, hasud sebagaimana tersebut didalam ayat (yang berbunyi: "Watlu alaihim naba'abnai Adama bilhaqqi idz qorrabaa qurbana, qaala la aqtulannaka qaala innama yataqabbalullahu minal muttaqien." (Yang bermaksud): "Bacakanlah berita kedua putera Adam ketika sama- sama mengajukan korbannya, maka diterima yang satu dan ditolak yang lain, lalu ia berkata: "Saya akan membunuh engkau." Jawabnya: "Sesungguhnya Allah hanya menerima dari orang yang bertaqwa." Al-Ahnaf bin Qays berkata: "Orang hasud tidak dapat senang dan orang bakhil tidak berbudi dan tidak dapat dijadikan kawan orang yang selalu jemu dan tidak ada kemanusiaan bagi pendusta. Dan tidak dapat diterima pendapat orang yang kianat dan tiada budi bagi orang yang rosak moral (tidak berakhlak). Seorang hakiem (cendiakiawan) berkata: "Belum pernah saya melihat seseorang zalim menyerupai orang yang dianiaya daripada penghasud." Muhammad bin Sirin bertanya: "Saya tidak dapat menghasud orang atas sesuatu daripada dunia, jika ia ahli syurga maka bagaimana saya akan iri hati padahal ia ahli syurga dan jika ia ahli neraka maka untuk apa hasud terhadap orang yang bakal masuk neraka?" Alhasan Albashri berkata: "Hai Anak Adam, mengapakah engkau iri hati terhadap saudaramu, maka jika Allah s.w.t. memberi sesuatu kepada orang yang kau hasud itu kerana kemuliaannya disisi Allah s.w.t. maka untuk apakah kau hasud kepada orang yang dimuliakan Allah s.w.t., jika tidak demikian maka untuk apakah kau hasud kepada orang yang akan masuk keneraka?" Abul Laits berkata: "Tiga macam orang yang tidak akan diterima doanya iaitu: * Orang yang makan haram * Orang yang tidak suka ghibah (membicarakan kejelekkan orang) * Siapa yang didalam hatinya ada hasud/irihati terhadap kaum muslimin Ibn Syihab (Azzubri) dari Salim dari ayahnya (Ibn Umar) r.a. berkata Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. bersabda: "Tidak boleh seorang hasud kecuali dalam dua macam iaitu: * Seorang yang diberikan Allah s.w.t. kepandaian dalam Al-Quran maka digunakan siang malam (diamalkan) * Seseorang yang diberikan Allah s.w.t. kekayaan maka ia bersedekah siang malam. Ertinya: Orang boleh hasud untuk sedemikian ini Abul Laits berkata: "Yakni rajin sesungguh-sungguhnya ingin meniru perbuatan itu dalam ilmu dan kekayaannya, maka ini adalah baik. Maka jika ia ingin berubah orang yang baik itu maka ia jahat kerana Allah s.w.t. telah berfirman (Yang berbunyi): "Wala tatamannau maa fadhdhalallhu ba'dhakum ala ba'dhin." (Yang bermaksud): "Jangan menginginkan aoa yang diberikan Allah sebagai kurnia kepada setengahmu atas yang lain." Dalam ayat yang lain pula Allah s.w.t. berfirman (Yang berbunyi): " Was'alullaha min fadh lihi." (Yang bermaksud): "Kami sendiri minta kepada Allah dari kurniaNya." Maka kewajipan tiap muslim membersihkan dari dari hasud sebab hasud itu menentang hukum Allah s.w.t. dan ketentuan kurnia yang diberikan Allah s.w.t. kepada seseorang hamba yang diridhoNya. Al-alaa' bin Abdurrahman dari ayahnya dari Abuhurairah r.a. berkata: "Ia bertanya kepada Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. tentang kewajipan seorang muslim terhadap sesama muslim?" Jawab Nabi Muhammad s.a.w.: "Hak kewajipan seorang muslim terhadap muslim yang lain ada enam iaitu: * Jika bertemu harus diberi salam * Jika mengundang harus didatangi * Jika diminta nasihat harus ditunjukkan yang benar (dinasihati) * Jika bersin dan mebaca Alhamdulillah harus didoakan dengan berdoa Yarhamukallah * Jika sakit harus diziarah * Jika mati harus dihantar jenazahnya Abul Laits meriwayatkan dengan sanandnya dari Anas bin Malik r.a. berkata: "Saya telah menjadi pelayan Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. sejak berumur lapan tahun dan pertama yang diajarkan Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. kepadaku: "Ya Anas, tetapkan wudukmu untuk sembahyang supaya dicinta oleh Malaikat yang menjagamu, dan ditambah umurmu. Ya Anas, mandilah dari janabat dan sempurnakan didalam mandi itu sebab dibawah tiap helai rambut ada janabat." Saya bertanya: "Bagaimana menyempurnakannya?" Jawab Nabi Muhammad s.a.w.: "Puaskan sampai kedalam rambut- rambutmu dan bersihkan benar kulitmu, supaya engkau keluar dari tempat mandi sudah diampunkan dosa- dosamu. Ya Anas, jangan engkau tinggalkan sembahyang dhuha sebab itu sembahyangnya orang- orang awwaabiin (yang taubat kemabali kepada Allah s.w.t.) dan perbanyakkan sembahyang malam dan siang sebab selama engkau sembahyang maka Malaikat mendoakan untukmu. Hai Anas, jika engkau berdiri sembahyang makategakkan dirimu dihadapan Allah s.w.t. dan jika rukuk maka letakkan kedua tapak tangan dilututmu dan renggangkan jari-jarimu dan renggangkan kedua lenganmu dari pinggangmu, dan bila bangun dari ruruk maka tegakkan sehingga kembali semua anggota ditempatnya, dan jika sujud maka letakkan wajahmua ditanah dan jangan sebagai burung yang menyucuk makanan dan jangan kau hamparkan kedua lenganmu sebagaimana pelanduk, dan jika duduk diantara dua sujud maka jangan sebagaimana duduk anjing dan letakkan kedua bokongmu diantara dua kaki dan letakkan bahagian atas tapak kaki ditanah sebab Allah s.w.t. tidak melihat sembahyang yang tidak sempurna rukuk sujudnya. Dan jika dapat engkau tetap berwuduk siang malam maka kerjakanlah, sebab jika tiba mati kepadamu engkau sedang berwuduk, maka engkau tidak luput dari mati syahid. Hai Anas, jika engkau masuk kerumahmu maka berilah salam kepada keluargamu, supaya banyak berkat rumahmu dan jika engkau keluar untuk hajat maka beria salam pada tiap muslim yang bertemu kepadamu supaya masuk manisnya iman dalam hatimu, dan kila terkena dosa ketika keluar maka akan kembali sudah diampunkan dosamu. Hai Anas, jangan sampai diwaktu siang dan malam engkau mendendam dengki kepada seorang muslim sebab itu dari ajaranku maka siapa yang mengikuti ajaranku bererti cinta kepadaku dan siapa yang cinta kepadaku maka ia bersamaku disyurga. Hai Anas, jika engkau melakukan dan mengingati wasiatku ini, maka tidak ada sesuatu yang lebih suka daripada maut sebab disitulah istirehatmu." Didalam ajaran Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. ini dinyatakan bahawa membersihkan hati daripada dengki dan hasud kepada seseorang muslim termasuk Sunnaturrasul yang menjadi tanda cinta kepada Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. bagi siapa yang melakukannya, bahkan bersama Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. siyurga. Maka wajib tiap muslim membersihkan hatinya dari rasa dengki dan hasud sebab termasuk amal yang utama. Abul Laits meriwayatkan dengan sanadnya dari Anas r.a. berkata: "Ketika kami dimasjid bersama Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. tiba-tiba Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. bersabda: ""Akan masuk kepadamu seorang ahli syurga sambil memegang kedua kasutnya dengan tangan kirinya." Maka tiba-tiba masuk seorang sebagaimana yang disabdakan oleh Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. itu dan sesudah memberi salam ia duduk bersama kami. Kemudian pada esok harinya Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. bersabda pula dan masuk kembali orang itu seperti keadaan kelmarin dan hari ketiga Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. bersabda, juga sama seperti hari pertama dan kedua, dan ketika orang itu bangun untuk kembali diikuti oleh Abudullah bin Amr Al-ash dn berkata kepada orang itu: "Telah terjadi pertengkaran sedikit antaraku dengan ayahku sehingga aku bersumpah tidak akan masuk kerumah selama tiga malam, maka jika engkau tidak keberatan maka saya akan bermalam dirumahmu selama itu?" Jawabnya: "Baiklah." Anas berkata: "Abdullah bin Amr menceritakan bahawa ia bermalam dirumah orang itu dan ternyata bahawa orang itu tidak bangun malam, hanya jika tidur berzikir sehingga bangun fajar dan jika berwuduk sempurna dan sembahyang dengan khusyuk dan tidak puasa sunnat. Ddemikian saya perhatikan kelakuannya sampai tiga hari tiga malam, tidak lebih dari itu dan hanya saja ia tidak berkata-kata kecuali yang baik-baik. Dan setelah tiga malam saya merasa bahawa ia tidak mempunyai amal yang berlebihan dan saya kata kepadanya: "Ssebenarnya antara ku dengan ayahku tidak ada apa- apa, tetapi saya telah mendengar Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. bersabda didalm tiga majlis: "Akan tiba padamu seorang ahli syurga." tiba-tiba engkau datang dan kerana itu saya ingin mengetahui amalmu, maka saya berusaha bermalam dirumahmu untuk meniru amalmu tetapi ternyata kepadaku bahawa engkau tidak berlebihan, maka apa yang kiranya menyebabkan engkau sehingga Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. bersabda sedemikian?" Jawabnya: "Tidak lain melainkan apa yang sudah engkau lihat itu." Maka pergilah aku, tetapi lalu dipanggil olehnya dan berkata: "Amalku tidak lebih melainkan apa yang engkau saksikan itu, cuma saja saya tidak irihati atau dengki pada seseorang muslim terhadap segala yang ia dapat." Maka saya katakan: "Inilah yang menyampaikan engkau sehingga Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. bersabda sedemikian itu dan itulah yang tidak dapat kami lakukan." Wie herzzerreißend muss die Reue sein, einzusehen, dass man vielleicht das ewige Wohlbefinden wegen einer einzigen Stunde, sechzig Minuten, 3600 Sekunden verliert? Allâh schenkte uns Verstand, um ihn zu nutzen. Er schenkte uns Worte der Zukunft, um vorausschauend zu blicken. Mit jeder einzelnen Warnung vermittelt Er uns Seine Liebe, um uns zu schützen. So frage ich Dich, auf was wartest Du? Während Du auf die Zeit wartest, so wartet sie wahrlich nicht auf Dich. Greife nach der Zeit, ehe sie Dich ergreift. Giginya masih yang asal. Lebih aneh lagi mampu berjalan kaki berbatu-batu biar pun usianya mungkin tertua di dunia iaitu 160 tahun. Percaya atau tidak, namun Tok Ayah mendakwa melalui pengalaman di bawah 13 Sultan yang memerintah Kelantan. Malah kisah hidup pahlawan dan perjuangan Mat Kilau pun diketahui dengan jelas. Pengalaman di bawah penjajahan Inggeris dan Jepun masih diingati sehingga sekarang. Wajahnya tidak berkedut seperti warga emas lain. Mantan Menteri Besar itu juga menghadiahkan tongkatnya kepada Tok Ayah di samping wang. Stapa memberitahu paling aneh anak dan cucunya tidak tahu ke mana Tok Ayah pergi setiap hari, namun ketika pulang ada sahaja makanan yang dibawanya. "Malah ada ketika anaknya nampak Tok Ayah naik kereta pergi, namun tidak lama kemudian dilihat ada di dalam rumah. "Banyak sebenarnya kisah pelik kalau hendak cerita tentang Tok Ayah. Apa yang saya tahu sejak dahulu sehingga sekarang dia tidak bekerja tetap dan hanya tahu berjalan sahaja. "Namun tangannya sentiasa ada buah tasbih. Tok Ayah hanya meminum air telaga yang tidak dimasak. Kalau orang bagi duit kepadanya dia akan bagi kepada orang lain pula," katanya. Cucu Tok Ayah pun ada yang sudah berusia lebih 60 tahun. He wants to remain there, thinking the best life is that where he is--enjoying the umbilical cord. Then they both nurse from their mom. One is weaned while the other is not. THe weaned one tells his brother, "You will not believe how nice of a life I have. I have fish, meat, fruit, vegetables, water, juice and so much more, while you only have milk." The fitrah of the infant still nursing is to dislike change and he thinks he is in the best life ever. Finally, one twin dies and tells his brother, "We have a garden bigger than your sky and earth! Bricks of gold and silver! Mortar of fragrant musk! Pebbles of pearl and sapphire! Soil of saffron! A space the size of a whip here is better than your world and all that is in it! Michele Bachmann says Iran's nuclear facilities "must be bombed" despite a nuclear agreement between Iran and six major powers. "It may be incumbent upon the Prime Minister [Benjamin Netanyahu] to make a decision he has no desire to make, and that would be to bomb facilities, that must be bombed, in Iran," Bachmann said during a speech at a Zionist Organization of America gala. On November 24, a six-month accord was sealed in Geneva between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council -- the US, Britain, Russia, France and China -- plus Germany. The House Intelligence Committee member said the nuclear deal was a deliberate effort to harm Israel's security interests. "That decision that was made by the P5+1 in Geneva had more to do with Israel than it had to do with Iran," she said. "Because, you see, the decision that was made could be the biggest cudgel that our president, and that the nations of the world, could use to prevent Israel from defending not only herself, but her right to exist," the congresswoman claimed. The Jewish group, the Zionist Organization of America, had earlier condemned the agreement and described it as "an appeasement deal." The former US presidential candidate pointed out that the deal has left Israel isolated. Israel "may be forced now, when the greatest nations of the world have abandoned her, in her time of greatest need… to stand alone," Bachmann said. "It is one thing to be a friend of Israel when the sun is shining, and when times are good… it is another to be a friend of Israel and to make the case that Israel not only has the right to exist but the right to defend herself, and that right may possibly include the right to be able to bomb nuclear facilities and potential nuclear facilities in Iran," she argued. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded angrily after the accord was struck, calling it a "horrible mistake." "For the first time the leading world powers agreed to allow Iran to continue enriching uranium, totally ignoring the UN sanctions," Netanyahu said. "Israel is not obligated by this agreement." Meanwhile, President Barack Obama defended the agreement, pushing back against rising criticism from Israel and Congress. "We cannot close the door on diplomacy, and we cannot rule out peaceful solutions to the world's problems," Obama said. Alaa Ebrahim reports from the ground Traveling down the international highway linking Damascus and central Syria is not what it used to be, we are advancing with caution as we head to Deir Attia: the once prosperous town benefiting from the international road now resemble a battle field as insurgents moved in to cut off the vital supply route last week. The insurgents attacked and occupied the town's hospital. Later on the Syrian army launched a counter offensive on the momentum it gained from retaking Qara town in the same area. The bodies of insurgents in the national hospital is a reminder of the stand off that took place here after militants took the medical staff as hostages, many of them were later killed; Residents speak about the week they endured under Takfiri rebels control. The Syrian army now is in a better position to reopen the international highway and the operations are still going on for that purpose. Soldiers now are moving from street to street engaging the few remaining armed groups in the town. What follows is a rough transcription of the interview. Press TV: Well, Abayomi Azikiwe, does our guest Moustafa Reda have a point that this should have been enacted after Mubarak was ousted, in terms of this new law that has been passed, banning protests without permission? Azikiwe: Yes, I believe that the new laws are in response to the political instability that continues in Egypt. We have to understand that since the July 3, the military seizure of power, there have been numerous demonstrations throughout the country. The government has banned the Freedom and Justice Party which was allied with the Muslim Brotherhood. They have also cracked down on other groups that are in opposition to the military coup. So this represents the continuation of this same process and at the same time with the degree of repression that is escalating in regard to the women who have just been sentenced to some 11 years for merely opposing the military regime in Egypt and then people such as Ahmed Maher who is the head of the April Sixth Movement who had been heavily involved in the initial rebellion during January 2011 and also in fact that supported the military seizure of power on July 3, they too are now coming under scrutiny and indictment by the military-backed regime right now. So this is further legal rationale for the outright suppression of all dissents and all protests and in a sense the political process in Egypt has come full circle. Press TV: Abayomi Azikiwe, our guest there, Moustafa Reda talked about how the Muslim Brotherhood is part of Egyptian society and it has been just that; but that is not how this army-appointed government looking at it, is it? I mean they have pretty much looked at anybody who is supporting the Muslim Brotherhood, let anole the supporters, the Muslim Brotherhood itself, that they are terrorist; they have labeled them terrorist, even on their TV screens and that is used to label actions by, you know, supporters of the ousted President Mohamed Morsi, as I mentioned the Muslim Brotherhood group. The army just wants to clean up anything that has to do with the Muslim Brotherhood in terms of support. It does not sound like there is a happy medium being established there by this army-appointed government, is there? Azikiwe: They have made it very clear through a series of decrees that have of course impacted anyone, not only those who belong to the Muslim Brotherhood and the Freedom and Justice Party but other individuals within civil society in Egypt, who have opposed the military coup d'état, which took place back in July, who have opposed the arbitrary actions on the part of the military appointed government and the operatives of that regime, they have, in fact, been prosecuted, the examples are numerous; Morsi himself has only made one public appearance in a courtroom since July 3, and that hearing was adjourned. So it is clearly a situation where there is no democratic practice or due process that is being enacted right now in Egypt and what is interesting is that some of the same people who have supported the military coup d'état back in July, are now themselves coming under fire and under scrutiny and being prosecuted by the same military regime which took power by force as a result of the demonstrations that had developed in June. I agree that the Freedom and Justice Party did not do a good job in regard to administrating the situation inside of Egypt, they should have been more open in regard to opening up dialogue with opposition groups; they should have not forced the draft constitution which was voted on by a small minority of the Egyptian people last year, but even with all of that, if the political dynamics inside the country had been maintained, they could very well have reached some type of accommodation where both major political camps could have formed some type of government of national unity. The chances of that happening in the near future, now becomes more and more remote. Press TV: Abayomi Azikiwe, the 16 or 17 billion dollars that our guest there said, contributed by the Persian Gulf countries, which I thought it was 12 billion dollars, the main financier has been Saudi Arabia. How you look at the Saudi role in this case bankrolling this army-appointed government? Some reach the conclusion that there is a possibility that Saudi Arabia is dictating the army-appointed government to how to run its domestic affairs in Egypt. Azikiwe: Well, they (Saudi government) were opposed to the Muslim Brotherhood government and there was also a difference with the government of Qatar which is also closely allies with the West. I believe that they are attempting to win influence inside of Egypt and also it is bad for the United States to continue its support for the Egyptian military. They had announced earlier, during the period in which John Kerry visited Cairo, that the US would not necessarily suspend aid or only certain aspects of the aid was suspended but they were going to maintain relations even under a military government that has been under scrutiny by not only people inside Egypt but also people throughout the region. So I think that Saudi Arabia's role is also closely allied with the United States' ongoing support of the military government which in fact is losing a tremendous amount of credibility and legitimacy among many sections of the Egyptian society. And I think that it is only a matter of time before broader segments of the population do come out and protest against this government that is headed by the generals. Press TV: Abayomi Azikiwe what do you think Russia wants in return? Quickly if you can. Azikiwe: Well, the Egyptian government is probably attempting to balance the dominance of the United States with other external powers, and Russia of course is trying to increase its influence, which had waned back during the 1970's under Anwar Sadat. Six people were killed on Thursday when car bombings rocked several cities in Babil province. A car bomb went off near a police checkpoint in the city of Samarra in Salaheddin province, killing three police officers and wounding two others. Several car bombings hit other cities in Salaheddin province as well as Wasit province, killing six people and wounding 15 others. Moreover, gunmen shot and killed six people including two civilians in Salaheddin. At least six people were killed after a series of bombings hit the capital Baghdad. In the northern city of Mosul, four people lost their lives in shootings. The attacks took to more than 600 the number of people killed in November across Iraq, according to reports. No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but al-Qaeda-linked militants often carry out the acts of terror. On October 23, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki warned that Iraq is facing a "war of genocide."
